Jdleong Posted April 18, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2006 What is the best way to go from Houston Airport to the port in Galveston??? and what does it cost?
NRWO Posted April 18, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2006 CCL has transfers from IAH (they are discontinuing transfers from Hobby). They're $66 pp round-trip or $33 pp one-way. You can book them in advance with your PVP/TA, et al. or at the airport on the day of sailing.
hunymoonr Posted April 18, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 18, 2006 We have booked a limo from Houston (Hobby) to Galveston. It is a Lincoln sedan for $70.00 one way. I think the price from IAH is $90.00. Try searching for Houston or Galveston limos as I am not sure I can give you their name here!
cod Posted April 18, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 18, 2006 Try www.galvestonlimousineservice.com. The rates are pretty good considering the distance..$35 one way for an adult, $32 for seniors. Anyway, rates and schedules are on their website.

Alliezona Posted April 18, 2006 #6 Share Posted April 18, 2006 www.onyxlimousine.com and had Robert as our driver!! He was fantastic!! Would use them/him again in a heartbeat!! Had a Stretch Excursion on the way down and a party bus for the ride home, ended up being about $10 more per person than CCL transfer!
candaceandjason Posted April 18, 2006 #7 Share Posted April 18, 2006 When are they stopping transfers to Hobby? We were planning on using them to get back to the airport after our cruise in June.
centralcalicruzer Posted April 18, 2006 #8 Share Posted April 18, 2006 Hunymoonr: Was that $70.00 per person or total? We are traveling with four and I'm looking for the least expensive way to get from the airport to Galveston. Thanks!
hunymoonr Posted April 19, 2006 #9 Share Posted April 19, 2006 The $70.00 is total for 2 people one way. I think it's the same for 4 people because the sedan holds 4. Go to http://www.extremelegance.com. The site will show you the prices! We have booked for round trip and I think it's a great price. All the cab companies I called wanted at least $90.00 one way. emporess Posted April 19, 2006 #11 Share Posted April 19, 2006 Thanks everyone for your help with this transportation issue. I have emailed L.J. Cormier with Texas Cruise Ship Shuttle. His rates are $150 each way for our family of 4. He has gotten good reviews, but I know my kids would prefer a limo and he has a van (I think). His website is www.cruiseshipshuttle.com. houstoncruisers2001 Posted April 24, 2006 #12 Share Posted April 24, 2006 Gulf Coast, Emerald & Hallmark are limo companies that have all gotten good reviews out here. They are all husband & wife companies, not some huge national limo company. All 3 are based in the Houston area. http://www.gulfcoastlimo.com/ http://www.emeraldlimos.com/ http://www.hallmarklimo.com/
budgetED Posted April 27, 2006 #13 Share Posted April 27, 2006 I rented a minivan at IAH one-way to Galveston. I had an Enterprise coupon which u can get simply by going to their website and signing up for special offers. It cost me about $75 total for the minivan and I dopped it off at their Galveston location. They then drove me to the cruise ship terminal. Did the same thing for the return to IAH. Only Enterprise and Hertz have a rental counter inside the terminal....you take care of the paperwork there, and they shuttle you to an off-site location (5 minutes away) for pick-up. I found it to be the most economical option for 7 of us instead of paying about $75 pp for a shuttle or limo. Good Luck!
emporess Posted April 28, 2006 #14 Share Posted April 28, 2006 Has anyone used Enrique Escobar with Houston Luxury Transportation? He has quoted us $155 each way for a stretch limo.
creekbaby Posted May 12, 2006 #15 Share Posted May 12, 2006 We are using Enterprise as our transportation. There will be 5 in our party (2 are children). I don't remember the cost, but it was reasonable. Could someone that has drove from IAH (Bush Intercontinental) tell me exactly how long it takes to get to the port? I'm beginning to get nervous that we won't have enough time. We are flying in the day of the cruise - I know we should have flown in early, but time wouldn't allow for that!!
wrp96 Posted May 12, 2006 #16 Share Posted May 12, 2006 Depends on the traffic, but it usually takes about 1-1/2 to 2 hours to get from IAH to Galveston.
subwaysigns Posted May 14, 2006 #17 Share Posted May 14, 2006 we rented a car from Hobby at enterprise. it costs around $50 and took about 1:15 to get there. it was a very easy drive. enterprise requires you to drop it off at their galveston office and they will give you a free ride to the port. when you come back from your cruise, enterprise has a parking lot at cruise terminal where you can get your car and return it to the airport. if you don't mind driving, it's well worth it and you can save a little cash while you're at it. you have to call the enterprise office in galveston and/or hobby to reserve it, you cannot do one way rentals on the internet.
