Two Category Upgrades

Does anyone know how this works. I received a Latitudes certificate for a two-category upgrade. I submitted the certificate through my travel agent, and she was told it would be applied about two weeks before the cruise. Do you get shipboard credit?

A two category upgrade certificate will actually book you in a cabin two categories higher than the category you booked.

However, if it's the certificate they will mail to you after your cruise, it will be good for only certain fare categories. And when I've tried to use them my TA could always beat that price by a lot. It's not a total loss though as the certificate I'm think of makes great paper airplanes

This will only give you an upgrade within your type of cabin. If you are in a balcony, you will stay in a balcony but a better location. More midships. If you have an inside cabin, you might get an outside, but not a balcony cabin. Hope this helps.:)

I just received a e-mail about this from NCL. I sent this certificate in about 2 months ago to be applied to my Sept. Spirit cruise. I booked a inside KK and they credited my invoice $40. They also sent me a updated invoice with the new price on it. I booked directly with NCL. Ive used these before on other cruises and the higher the cat. that you pick the more $$ off! They are for real! Dont just throw them away.

The coupon is for inside-to-inside, oceanview-to-oceanview, and balcony-to-balcony. You are actually supposed to book two categories higher than you wish to pay, and your voyage fare will be reduced as soon as the certificate is received by NCL. For example, you wish to pay for a BC, so you book a BA and once the certificate is received, your fare will be adjusted to reflect the BC's price. Hope this helps!
