Majesty of the Sea - Deck 5?

Recommended Posts

I have booked a cabin on Deck 5 on a three night Bahamas cruise on Majesty of the Sea on June 30, 2006. Has anyone stayed on this deck? How is it? I head that Deck 6 is under the jogging trail (noisy!), Deck 3 has a sewage odour and Deck 8 has an obstructed view :o

Any feedbacks would be appreciated. :)

Hi, our family just returned from the 4 day cruise. The cabins were very quiet. They are small and lots of wear and tear on them. There were no odors, but one morning the toliets didn't work because someone along the line flushed something. The staff was great and things were working within a couple of hours and no other impact. They were in the process of replacing the drapes and spreads during our trip.

What cabin are you in? Just got off the Majesty this past Monday, and we were in 5595 - if you ask me, the perfect location! It's around the corner from the main elevators, down about 6 steps (not a full flight of stairs) from the shopping and casino deck. And, our muster station was indoors in one of the lounges!! Whenever we book the Majesty or Sovereign, we always book the 5th deck.

We were on the Majesty 3-night a little over a week ago. Our cabin was on Deck 6 which made it deja vu all over again! since our first RCI cruise was on the same deck on the Sovereign. Our room was quiet and we did not notice running track noise. However, there was sewer odor in the hallway that was evident almost all the time. We were told that the Majesty has been bumped back from drydock several times so they are doing as many upgrades as possible on the run...the Viking lounge had been closed the week before for installing carpet; they were installing drapes, etc, in the rooms on our cruise. I like deck 6 because it is just squeezed in between two other decks and when I look at a deck plan it reminds me of a Geico commercial where a couple live in a house that is too small--in height--I am always surprised that I get to walk upright there!

My wife & I were in 5524 on the Sovereign back in 2001. It is a perfect deck to be on.

That said, we fly out tomorrow for a "mini" b2b on the Majesty. This time we will be in deck 8 OV for the 3 night, and deck 9OV for the 4 night. Yes, moving is a hassle, but there were no common cabins available.
