Has anyone out there been on the Disney Christmas cruise? Did you enjoy it? Please let me know we are thinking of taking a Diseny cruise sometime in December or January and thought this might be a fun option. Thanks for your help.

We have done DCL three times during december. Not over Christmas, but during the month . We really love it.

The decorations are really nice, I love the tree lighting ceremony, it actually snows on you!!!

Santa Goofy is everywhere, including on a jet ski on CC.

They have started decorating CC for Christmas too.

After seeinf things all decorated, the ship looks so plain when we cruise at other times of the year. It is also interesting to see what the decorations are like on some of the islands. they are different than what you see here.

The weather was warm and very pleasant. I would highly recommend it!!

We did the 10 day cruise over Christmas in 2004 and loved it! As momx4 said the decorations are everywhere!

They had a family activity of decorating gingerbread houses.

We had a CM choir sing in the atrium one night, and the kids from the club sang the next night.

They had cookies and eggnog in the atrium on Christmas eve and an appearance by Santa with gifts for the kids.

A special menu on Christmas night.

A very very nice experience!

Both of our DCL's have been mid-December. It is the lowest price for the highest theme time of the year!

As posted, there were lots of special activities, and we've used the photos with Mickey/Minnie in holiday attire for our Christmas cards twice now.

:) We have been on seven cruises. The last one we took was the second week of December on the Magic. Right after Thanksgiving both the park and the Disney Magic swing into the Christmas spirit with trees and everything. Even Castaway Kay is decorated for the holidays.

My parents are in their 80's and thoroughly enjoyed the cruise. Most people do not want to do any of the three weeks after Thanksgiving. Because of this, you will notice the best cruise prices on the Disney site except for possibly Hurricane season Aug. - Nov.

During the Christmas week, the price of the cabins go up dramatically. After New Years the price goes down a bit.

We will be cruising this December -- leaving for a week on the Disney Magic, on Sat. Dec. 2nd. After the cruise we will stay at Disney World for an additional five nights.

I have not been on one yet but am planning to go on the 10-day cruise this year. If you go to the cruise board on disboards.com you will find many people who have been on the 10-day cruise in 2004, and some that are planning to go again on the 2006. The Christmas cruise is quite a bit more expensive though, and if you just want the decorations a good option is to go earlier in December, as others have said. What I like about the 10-day is that it visits 6 ports so that makes it more worth it for me.

We sailed on the Wonder for the 2004 Christmas holiday, and were actually at Castaway Cay on Christmas Day. That stop is always good, but it was extra festive with fake snow, and all of the decorations and activities onboard. Highly recommend it. Only downside is having to pass through an airport during the holidays, so we sailed NCL Dawn from NYC for Christmas 2005.
