CruisinGerman Posted April 23, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2006 Fellow experienced cruisers: Would someone be so kind as to tell me which Parisian airport, Orly or Charles de Gaulles, is closer to, and/or easier to get to from, the Le Havre cruise port. Will the Celebrity tour desk (as they gladly do on Silversea, Seabourn or Crystal) arrange a private car to take us there, or is this something we should worry about on our own? Many thanks, Gunther and Uta
greeneg Posted April 23, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2006 Do not know about Orly, but Charles de Gaul has a direct rail connection which might be worth a look depending on what your actual schedule needs are. It appears to take a little over three hours from the SNCF station in Le Harve to the terminals at CDG; given traffic in the Ile de France and Metropolitan Paris, that might be a faster way to go. Here's a link that you might start with: http://www.railkey.com/tickets/schedules.asp?AFF=EOR

Many thanks, Gunther and Uta Hi, Gunther - The tour desk might only be able to tell you about regular transfers via bus, but the Concierge should be able to arrange a car and driver for you. You may want to check with him/her as soon as you board to make sure it's arranged.
rubrrick Posted April 24, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 24, 2006 I may be easier to book a car and driver online, rather than depend on the concierge. Some are very good, and some lack the personal attention. Just an FYI from past experience. Rick
