Out To Sea with Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau and lots of other great movie stars, including Brent Spiner of Star Trek fame.

Ditto on OUT TO SEA. Used to love Star Trek TNG and this was the first real GIG Brent Spiner got after it wrapped. Thought he stole the show..

OK, not quite a cruising movie per se; in fact, a movie about sailing races: Wind. (Would the fact that the excursion in St. Maarten is about sailing make this somewhat relevant to a "cruise movie"?)

The movie is about the America's Cup races (very loosely based on Dennis Connor first loosing, then winning the cup back), "back" in the days when this was still a 12 metre event.

It has some of the best sailing footage ever shot even if some allowances were made for "Hollywood" (like Modine steering from leeward while on a windward beat).

Guys will love the sailing but it also has its chick flick appeal.

Filmed aboard the former Ile de France, one of the Grande Dames of transatlantic travel during the golden age of the great ocean liners.

"Le Gendarme a New York"

a French comedy, about the police force of Saint Tropez attending an international police convention in New York.

Filmed partially aboard the great SS France on a crossing to New York

Okay, I'm a bit of a sick monkey, ......

Well you have good company Gabrielle. I loved The Poseidon Adventure too. Whoever thought watching a disaster movie as a kid would get one interested in real-life ocean liners and cruise ships. Wouldn't want anything like it to happen in real life (and the remakes are just plain terrible) but I am a sucker for big epics with big casts. They just don't make movies like they used to.:D
