Excited about Cruising Posted April 25, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 25, 2006 We will be flying in the night before our cruise, renting a van in Orlando and spending the night near Port Canaveral. Does anybody know a hotel around that area. We are hoping to leave the van there until we get back from our cruise. Also, what time can you actually get on the ship? DonnaK Posted April 25, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 25, 2006 There are 2 hotels near the port, Radisson and Residence Inn. There are numerous hotels in Cocoa Beach, which are just a mile or two away. Do a hotel search for Cocoa Beach to get a list. Just an idea - we are arriving 2 days pre-cruise and are renting a vehicle to drive from Orlando, but we are returning it before we board the ship, and then re-renting it for the return trip after the cruise. It is much cheaper than renting the car for the 10 days. Look into Budget, which has branches at both MCO and Cape Canaveral, and free shuttle to and from the ship, if you wish to price it out. michigan tim Posted April 25, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 25, 2006 I recently cruised from PC, we rented from Budget at the Orlando airport (MCO) and dropped it at Budget in PC a day later. They have a shuttle to the cruise terminal. Coming back we reversed the procedure. Budget picked us up at the cruise terminal, took us to the rental facility and we picked up a car and drove to MCO. Real painless!
biomedbob Posted April 25, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 25, 2006 The Best Western allows you to leave a vehicle for the week.
Nliedel Posted April 25, 2006 #5 Share Posted April 25, 2006 Like biomedbob says the Best Western does allow you to leave a car. I am not a huge fan of the place, but it is on the beach and near a Perkins for breakfast. It's a short trip to the pier by shuttle. The Raddison gets a lot of folks who really enjoy it.
