Zenith Room question please

Hi.. my husband and I will be sailing on the Zenith soon. We have always cruised Royal Caribbean and are looking forward to trying Celebrity.

My question is has anyone booked rooms 9109/or 9104 ? Is this almost like a balcony. I thought I read somewhere that someone mentioned this room was almost like having a balcony. I guess it it close to the stairs in the back of the ship. What do these stairs go to? lounge chairs?

Right now we are book obstructed view room 9081.. it is a good price but not sure if we want to stay there.. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Karen

I think what they mean is that these rooms are close to the door which leads out onto the aft deck. This deck is a public deck so you won't have privacy there but I don't think it is utilized all that much. Two decks up is the Windsurf Cafe and the pool deck. Two decks down is the Caravelle Dining Room.

please note that the dart board, table tennis and golf simulator are located on that back deck so you may have traffic/people noise -- if you think you would be sensitive to those noises, then I would suggest not moving any closer to the back deck.

We just got back and had cabins 9076, 9078, 9080 & 9082. Yours would be the same place just on the port side of the ship. This is a great location...keep it.

The elevators are small, so you can walk either 2 quick flights up to the buffet & pool, or 1 down to the clubs, casino & shops..or 2 down to the theater, clubs & restaurant. It is near the steps...so very convenient. You are also just a short hallway down to the aft & you can go out there to do darts, golf, pingpong, etc., One short flight up to a deck with lounge chairs and very calm water feeling, or 2 quick flights up and you are at the outside food deck with tables & chairs and grill.

We love this location!

Thank you for all the information.. PresciousPetal how was the obstructed view..? did you have any area you could look out of .. get much light in..?

I guess the location does seem good.. How was the movement back there with the rough waters? Did you feel it more or less then other parts of the ship?

Thank you again.

My party was is 9076 (me), 9078, 9080 & 9082 all obstructed views. I lucked out...I had a view since the window was between 2 life boats, so about a 4 to 5 foot opening right outside my window!

The other rooms had lifeboats, but there was plenty of light and a view up of the sky and down below of the water. If you opened the heavy curtains and only kept the shears closed, you would never even know there was a boat there because of all the light.

I prefer further back on a boat for motion. The front of the ship has much more movement on rough water. The best place I found to feel less movement was at the back deck of Deck 10...where are lounge chairs to relax on. Yes, the seas were rough we were told because of the Gulf Stream and a low pressure we encountered. When that happens you are going to feel some motion everywhere on the ship. I guess that is just the Atlantic on a smaller ship for you.

Once again...I'd sail her again-rough seas or not!:D

I would get a cabin as far aft as possible. Deck 9 has covered deck aft with ping pong tables and deck chairs. Take the aft outside stairs one deck up to 10 and its all open with deck chairs. I've stayed in 1090 twice and have always enjoyed it.
