Is the wind as bad at sea as it has been here at home??

Just wondering if anyone sailing recently noticed the wind blowing at sea as much as it has been here on land recently?? Has it made for rough sailing?:)

The relative wind strength at sea has always seemed considerable. A normal breeze of 15 MPH possibly added to ship speed of 18 MPH can equal a 33 MPH wind effect.

OR, if you are going w/ the wind, it only feels like a 3 MPH breeze!

On my first cruise I was surprised how windy it was on the top deck. It was always too windy to play mini-golf. Hopefully we'll be going with the wind on my next cruise BOTH ways! :-D
