jtimmer Posted May 1, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2006 Just curious as to how early we can check-in/embark at Red Hook for our June 9th crossing. We want to get there as early as possible but not so early that we can't get in or get processed.
2moose Posted May 1, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2006 Just curious as to how early we can check-in/embark at Red Hook for our June 9th crossing. We want to get there as early as possible but not so early that we can't get in or get processed. the last time we boarded in nyc at 12 noon. We were escorted directly to our room and then went to the grill to have an early lunch and confirm that our table was to our liking as a grill pax you will have a vip gate no waiting Bonvoyage wish i was going with you!!!!!!! castlewood Posted May 1, 2006 #3 Share Posted May 1, 2006 Would anyone have similar information about the earliest boarding time for QM2 Grill passengers leaving on a transatlamntic from Southampton?
NorthernNeighbour Posted May 1, 2006 #4 Share Posted May 1, 2006 When we received our travel documents from CUNARD, they printed on the documents the embarkation time we had been assigned. At Southampton, it was from 13h00 -- which is I believe a good time since the coach transfers from London usually do not even leave the London area until that time. I do believe the embarkation takes place fairly speedily -- it is dis-embarkation which often takes longer due to customs and immigration in New York. However, if for any reason the ship is late in arriving at Southampton (unlikely) then the embarkation could take longer if the crew does not have the ship ready to accept passengers. I feel sure as Grill Passengers (after all you paid to get luxury service) would be boarded fairly promptly at the hour that CUNARD designates on your travel documents. garycarla Posted May 1, 2006 #5 Share Posted May 1, 2006 For sure you can board at the earliest time they have listed on your documents. Anything earlier would be subject to the checkin system being manned and ready to process you. After all, VIP or not, if the computers are not ready to do their thing, you can not board. Or the staff to direct you, etc.
