Star Princess vs Sun Princess

Am thinking of booking the Star Princess. How does it compare to the Sun Princess? We have been on the latter (our first Princess cruise) and it was very mediocre...food and entertainment were below compared to other ships/lines that we have been on. How does the Star compare?

It is kind of like comparing apples to oranges. Both are fruits but with a totally different taste.

The Sun Princess is much smaller than the Star. We have sailed on both ships, the Star for 25 nights from LA to Sydney and the Sun on several 10 day cruises.

Personally, we prefer the Sun Princess (and ships in the Sun Class) as it is smaller and easier to navigate. We can run into the same people over and over again throughout the cruise and know what the ship has to offer very quickly.

But I must say that if you didn't find the Star appealing, that is, not enough to do or things to your liking, I doubt you would like the smaller vessel at all. That is unless you are looking for more of a cruise instead of being entertained continuously. There is a lot less 'we think' to be entertained with on the Sun class, but that is the right type of cruise for us. The mega ships are just too impersonal for our tastes.
