Infinity Internet Wirless?

Can anyone who has recently been on this ship tell me about the wireless Internet capabilities.

Want to know where it is available (wireless if I bring my own laptop) and what rate minute packages they offer.

Thanks.

Here is my experience from the Summit (same class of ship)

Wireless is available mid-ship, in the areas near the mid-ship elevator. There are usually chairs in this area on each floor. You can also go to the library, areas near the cova café or the lobby area by the pursers desk to sit and use your laptop. I've also heard of some people in mid-ship rooms that can get internet service, but I've never been able to connect in a room.

Rate is $0.75/minute - same as using the internet cafe or lab on board. You can buy time blocks in advance to get a small discount. You'll need to go to the lab when a class isn't in session for them to set something on their system to allow access by your lap-top. Service is very slow and spotty - same as using the on-board computers in the internet cafe. Often at dial-up speeds and sometimes worse. I've used a laptop twice, second time I wasn't able to use outlook (person in computer lab confirmed this limitation) even though I was able to use it the first time. I don't know if this was a limitation they put in place or if it was a system glitch at the time. So if you're going to need email make sure you have a web type connection for your email server.

The service is run by a vendor who also operates the www.celebrityatsea.com and they have some information about service and rates on that web site.

Larry or anyone who can answer,

When you used your laptop did you ever use it with an adaptor? I am asking because we are going to Europe on the Millie & staying in a hotel in Barcelona. We were wondering if we need to purchase convertors and/or surge protectors for the hotel & the ship.

Thanks for any help.

I travel to Europe frequently. Most modern laptops are dual currency - if you look at your power supply and it says input - 110v-250v then it will operate without additional transformer.

You will have to have a plug adapter. The continent uses a 2 prog plug the British / Irish use a 3 prog plug.

Wireless access from many hotels or Stabucks are pretty much the same as in the U.S. You may have to pay a daily access fee.

I have travel on Millenium a number of times and find that LSimon answer is compatible with Millie. If you happen to be in CS, RS or PS they have terminals in the rooms.
