Price adjust with new senior rate??????

It has recently come to my attention that a senior rate for my cabin catagory has recently appeared that is $130 per person below the price that we originally boked our cabin. Saying that we have two cabins with 2 people in each that would be a savings of $520. The only problem may be is that we are less than 30 days from sailing date. Could it be possible to still lower the price (booked with Online TA) or are we out the potential $520??? Thanks

You will have to work that out with your online TA, depends if they offer a price guarantee, Carnival does, you can't cancel and re-book, you may be out of luck...

We booked through Carnival for our cruise with the past guest rate. We found about 30 days from sailing that there was a senior rate that was $160 pp less for my parents. My dad called Carnival to ask for onboard credit for the difference but didn't get it. He did get an additional 2 category upgrade, but since the room is essentially the same (just 2 decks higher) the onboard credit would have been preferred!

Janetz, I can't answer where exactly the OP got the info, but you can check the seniors rate on *****.com (also past guest, military, interline, etc.).

Did you get that credit per cabin or as a total? If it was the total, I would push to make sure everyone got the lower price and onboard credit.

Sorry janetz...... Senior rates are available on some (about half) of Carnival's sailings, and only are available for certain categories. Talk to your travel agent or call a Carnival PVP.

 

As far as the onboard credit goes vesw01, the $220 was per cabin. I know that is not exactly matching the price change, but it sure beats getting nothing. Frankly, I was surprised that I even got a credit at all.

Already prepaid tips..... and Shore excursions....... what to use OBC for??? Hmm... Does anyone know if OBC can be used for Casino play? Also I'm assuming it can be used for Bingo, and whatever else I want to buy onboard.
