Boarding for the next cruise can't take place until all of the passengers from the previous cruise have disembarked. Since they usually start boarding a little before noon, I would expect that you should plan on being off the ship no later than 10:30. Often, disembarkation goes very smoothly and all passengers are off even before then. It is unfair to the crew that is readying the ship, especially the staterooms, for the next cruise to linger and possibly delay their accomplishing their tasks. You say you are arriving in NY, but are you not actually docking in Bayonne, NJ? Check out any NY post cruise tours that RCI offers and you may be able to fill the time before your flight more productively than loitering on the ship.:)

I'm not sure they will even allow you to linger! I've always found that on the morning of disembarkation it's best for everyone to get off and on your way as quickly as possible! It's not that the crew is uncivil, or anything, but they have a whole ship to ready for a whole new group in 4 hours. There will be no pampering for you--your cruise is over.

Find a long-lasting excursion to partake of, or rent a motel room for the day, and chill by the pool (hopefully this is a summertime trip!)until it's time to head to the airport.

Why not take one of the ships tours. Your luggage goes with you and it drops you at the airport when it is finished. They have tours for people leaving on earlier flights than you and longer tours for people leaving on late afternoon flights.

It is unlikely that you will be able to remain on the ship much after ten o'clock or so unless there are problems with disembarkation. We were on a

B2B on the Empress last April and shortly after the last groups of passengers left the ship, about 10:00, the crew began to comb through the ship to ensure that everyone except the B2B people had left. Just prior to that there were a number of announcements indicating that all "colors" had been called and that no stragglers should remain on board.
