Is Galveston motel parking safe?

DH and I are counting the days now until our July cruise on the Conquest. I have a question about parking. We have a 6 hour drive to Galveston and are thinking about staying overnight on Saturday so we will be nice and fresh on Sunday, but I wonder if the motels that allow you to leave your car parked in their lot are as secure as the covered parking you can pay for at the pier. The cost looks to be about the same either way. Any comments or advice is welcome. Thanks.:rolleyes:

I've never had a problem at a Stay and Fly hotel. Will be using one again in three weeks.

I have the same concern. We are cruising out of Port Canaveral. Any other comments? Thanks

Many of the hotels in Galveston offer free parking for cruisers. We've left our car twice at an unsecured hotel lot (but with closed circuit TV) in Galveston and once in LaPorte (Houston) and had no problems.
