judimouse Posted June 26, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2004 Anyone have an idea as to where I might find a red sailor's hat?
Florida Beach Posted June 26, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2004 :) ... but I think you can find almost anything at Walmart.:) I am a volunteer judge for Odyssey of the Mind and to ease the kids's anxiety, we need to wear funny hats. I found a perfect hat there :)

judimouse Posted June 26, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted June 26, 2004 Sorry to say my local Walmart does not have any sailor hats nor does ebay have any red sailor hats. Don't want to dye white hats so I am not sure what I will do.
Florida Beach Posted June 26, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 26, 2004 :) It's just make my imagination goes wild when you say you will die your hat. I hope you use the right die or your hair will wear the same color as your hat :)
peefaye Posted June 26, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 26, 2004 I couldn't find an individual red sailor hat, but Oriental Trading Co. has an assorted dozen (including red) for $20. http://www.orientaltrading.com search for "sailor"
CruisinMatt Posted June 26, 2004 #7 Share Posted June 26, 2004 Here's a sailing cap in case anyone needs one.... http://www.internationalmale.com/product.asp?product=SA078NAVYzz&dept%5Fid=10860&An=101&A=&Au=RollupKey
judimouse Posted June 26, 2004 Author #8 Share Posted June 26, 2004 Actually my hair is red, wonder if hair coloring would work on a hat LOL Forgot to tell everyone that I need 15 red sailor hats. They have to be somewhere online.
natalunia Posted June 26, 2004 #9 Share Posted June 26, 2004 Here's one on ebay, but it's still white, so you'd have to dye them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=36077&item=2253316019&rd=1 So are 15 "red hat ladies" going on a cruise? judimouse Posted June 26, 2004 Author #10 Share Posted June 26, 2004 There are 15 from our chapter with a total of 59 or 61. Just waiting to see if the last two book. Of the 59 booked 54 are red hatters, 2 pink hatters, and 3 husbands that are in for a shock. I would like to find the red sailor hats and then decorate them for my members. So far I have planned 1-A Getting to Know You Party, 2-Red Hat Bingo, 3-Pajama Breakfast, 4-a Red Hat Tea, and hopefully a scavenger hunt. natalunia Posted June 26, 2004 #11 Share Posted June 26, 2004 Sounds like loads of fun... I have many years before I can even be a pink hat (I'm 27), but I've recently become aware of the society. I can't wait to join... I'll keep my eye out for some red sailor hats/caps. Natalie
judimouse Posted June 27, 2004 Author #12 Share Posted June 27, 2004 Natalie, Who told you that 27 is too young. There are chapters that have teenagers, chapters that are all pink hatters and chapters like my that would kill for more pink hatters. Our "youngest" member is 34 and oldest is 84. I always say without Pink Hatters you will not have Red Hatters. Nitra Posted July 3, 2004 #13 Share Posted July 3, 2004 I have to agree to go to orientaltrading.com I shop there for lots of items when I need things for my groups. They sell in bulk and the prices work out to be sooo much cheaper than buying them individually.
JanetMarie Posted July 4, 2004 #14 Share Posted July 4, 2004 ;) How about the party world shops that are out there? It's just a guess on my part...
