 One week till I cruise on the Caribbean Princess. Our Roll Call group is great, and we will meet onboard, but I wish you could all come. Upon embarkation, from the time the shuttle drops us off at the port, are we responsible for getting every piece of luggage through the building, or do porters meet us as we get off the shuttle and take the BIG STUFF? Just wondered if we are supposed to lug everything through that line. A big thank you to my daughter for the Avatar. Didnt want to steal a gold Princess logo since I am a newbie, but spent 6 hours trying in vain to shrink the picture. She did it in under five minutes. Think I will keep it even after I cruise, I like it. Thanks in advance for all the advice and tips you have given me for this cruise. Loved talking about it with all of you. A special thanks to Meyerhaus for the sausage picture, it was terrific!!!!!!!!!! It has been such fun laughing with you all. Now to start the last countdown, and start packing for real. I AM SO EXCITED !!! THANKS FRIENDS!!! Karen

When you arrive at the terminal, the baggage handlers will be lined up at the drop-off point. Make sure you have your baggage tags on your luggage. You turn everything over but you carry-ons at this point. It might be several hours before you see your bags again, so take your swimsuit and change of clothes for afternoon relaxing with you, along with anything else you might need.

If you arrive before about 10:30 AM (some local shuttles do) you might have to hang onto your bags until the shore staff is ready to begin collecting bags. Sometimes they'll go to the line and gather the bags from those who arrived early.

Karen, one week. How excited you must be.!! I am with you. I think it would be great if all the Princess poster could go on a cruise together. And you are right up there with all of us. We are all newbies!! It doesnt matter how long we have been posting, we still learn new things. I hope you will still post with us when you come back.We will help keep you busy till its time for you to sail!! It will go very quick!! :)

Hi Karen,

I know, that picture was the best! Where does Jon find all that cool stuff?

Hope you have a great cruise and get the kind of sausage I know you deserve! :D Don't laugh too hard in the breakfast line at Horizon Court. We'll be waiting for the report.

Thanks to all for the tips. Here are a few from our trip that just ended today.

We brought beer and bottled water in a suitcase.

Ice cream 3:30 in horizon/caribe.

Grab a large glass from the bar before going to the buffet for extra iced tea or OJ instead of using the small glasses.

We had PC dining, and although we never had to wait (reservations were tough on formals) I would definitely do traditional next time. That way you always have a reservation.

Sabatini's books quickly so either get reservations quickly (in person after 1pm the first day). There were open tables when we were there, if you can't get reservations go by and check there are no shows.

Caribe buffet less crowded and you can almost always eat out by the aft pool if desired. They do make omelettes to order.

Think of going by the buffets for "appetizers". Nice to have some king crab legs/ lobster (grilled was awesome) and then showering for a later dinner.

We were on the Dolphin deck. It is exposed and the caribe decks are larger by about 3 feet (extra partition). But the rooms are larger and to us we would do the Dolphin deck again (I think).

If doing the western route go to stingray city in Grand Cayman. Very fun and funny. I was laughing so hard my sides were sore the next day.

By the way the pizza was great.

Casino tables were friendly.

Movies under the stars was nice as was most of the shows we saw.

We went horseback riding in Montego Bay and although we enjoyed it would not do it again.

I'll try to think of more if I can or ask away.

Bill

Not all of the Princess posters Sue, but the :)CC500:) for sure.

Wow, srphnx! Can you please tell us which Princess posters would not be allowed to "cruise together"? Thanks in advance, and while you're at it, could you please explain the nature and intent of your post...especially the "CC500" part? Is this like Amway or Mary Kay or something?

I predict that srphnx will not reply to my question - it's his "PC", and he has vowed never to reply to me, (although he actually did on The Fix board.)! I also just try to give answers and ask questions, and give opinions. It must be because I've been on more cruises than he has.

Chains are being yanked here by folks on the left side of the country. They would rattle a lot less if people on the right side of the country didn't grab hold every time they did it! ;) :D

Or OP can mean Original Poster.

I too would like to know what Srphnx meant with the CC500....before the change over I had 500 posts but mostly lurked....does that make me the "great unwashed"?

I was hoping that with the new boards some of the nastiness that has been on this Princess board lately would go away, but it seems that some are intent on bringing it to the new playground.

Agreed! It's posts like this that just continue the nastiness, and the poster really should be accountable for throwing the proverbial wrench into a genuine post.

To the original poster, I'm not sure if anybody else has mentioned this. When you pull up in front of the terminal, the porters will be there ready to take your luggage, but please make sure you have tip money. If you do not tip them, you may never see your bags again!!!
