Rental Cars near Miami port post-cruise?

Hello,

 

I'm looking at the option of taking a later flight home after the cruise to tool around Miami for the day and wondering if there are rental cars close to port or would I be better off cabbing back to the airport to rent a car there. Any advice would be helpful

We are staying over for an extra night and doing the same thing.

 

I called quite a few agencies and found that with Dollar they will shuttle us to their lot and then we can leave the car at the airport and they were a lot cheaper than the other car rental places.

 

Hopefully this works out for us! I will let you know in two weeks!

Most of the car rental companies at MIA will pick you up at the port in their shuttle bus and take you to their airport rental facility. I have used Alamo several times for this. Find the company you like, and verify that they shuttle from the port.

A five minute cab ride to the Avis downtown car rental facility will have you in a rental car and on your way in about the time it takes to catch a shuttle to the airport rental facilities. ;)
