I have tried to look into trip reports about the Galapagos trips but could not find the answer to this question. Sorry if it offends anyone, but here goes. On the shore trips to the islands where do you go , well to "potty". Just wondering with all the regulations about nature there.

If you really have to "go",tell the naturalist and they will summon the panga to take you back to the Xpedition. Good advice would be to go easy on the morning coffee and to plan ahead.Most excursions are only two hours or less.Then too, if you really have a problem ,I guess there are Depends.

Don't know what a panga is. You get to the islands via a zodiac with a driver and naturalist onboard. There is no place to potty but the ship so you're S-O-L sorry. the trips aren't terribly long tho, an hour or two.

The naturalist we had on our first excursion kind of addressed the issue. He made it sound like you could "go" if you absolutely had to but he couldn't guarantee your privacy.

 

With all the people with diarrhea and stomach problems on our cruise, it's a wonder we didn't get to see someone try out his instructions.

 

Even though the trips were only 2-3 hours, on some of them you hiked quite a way away from where you made your landing. If you were at the furthest point, and if just one person needed to go back and he called for transportation, would he just leave the rest to take them back? Would he trust them to try to go back themselves and not get lost? Like I said, nobody on any of the groups I was in ever needed to ask.

We took almost all the High Intensity hikes and there was never an request on our excursions. Since they lasted no longer than 2 1/2 hours everyone seemed to just "hold it".
