bbiggar Posted May 19, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2006 Disembarking off ship when another is too in New York. Is it really hard to get a taxi when 2 ships are disembarking passengers or would it be easier to by transfers? We have a 1:00 flight out of LGA is this enough time? smeyer418 Posted May 19, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 19, 2006 There have been times there have been 5 ships at the pier in Manhattan. It may take awhile but there will be plenty cabs dropping people off so, you should have no problem except for the line. If you want to go out on the ground level cross the street and catch a cab going north. Once in the Cab its 1/2 hour or so to the airport.
Rare Keith1010 Posted May 19, 2006 #3 Share Posted May 19, 2006 We disemabarked NYC in September, 2004 and there was one other ship there. Actually, I was surprised that we had to wait about 30 minutes for a cab there. So, it really depends how early you get off the ship. If you are not in a rush, then just take a cab. In addition to transfers, you could look into making arrangements to take a town car from the pier to the airport. I would price that out too relative to cruise line transfers. mabinbklyn Posted May 24, 2006 #4 Share Posted May 24, 2006 just want to repeat what smeyer said. Go downstairs, cross the street, and grab a cab going north. Much faster than waiting at the pier.
