Best way overnight for Bayonne ??

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am booking Explorer of the Seas for December 23, 2007 and, need some advice regarding Bayonne (Cape Liberty). I frequently travel between NY and DC and always take AMTRAK, for me it's just the quickest route between the two cities since I live in downtown DC. I'll be coming up a day prior to the departure date for the cruise - traveling with 5 other people. Is it easier to take the train straight into Penn and get a hotel on the West side and then get a cab over to Bayonne the following day? If not, what do you suggest?

Thanks

John from DC

I agree with Studebaker. Unless you have your heart set on going into the city, I would avoid it and stay in Newark. The airport itself is a short ride from the seaport, and it is definitely not a straight shot by public transportation from NYC back to Cape Liberty.

Hotels at Newark Airport are just a hop, skip, & a jump to Bayonne.. Some of the hotels may even provide transportation to the docks.. Check it out. Have fun, The Brooklyn Duo:)

Anyone know of a hotel in Newark that provides transportation to the dock?
