DcJohn Posted May 20, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 20, 2006 Hello, I am booking Explorer of the Seas for December 23, 2007 and, need some advice regarding Bayonne (Cape Liberty). I frequently travel between NY and DC and always take AMTRAK, for me it's just the quickest route between the two cities since I live in downtown DC. I'll be coming up a day prior to the departure date for the cruise - traveling with 5 other people. Is it easier to take the train straight into Penn and get a hotel on the West side and then get a cab over to Bayonne the following day? If not, what do you suggest? Thanks John from DC
Studebaker59 Posted May 20, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 20, 2006 I would suggest taking AMTRAK to Newark, NJ. You could stay overnight in the Newark area. I think the hotels would be cheaper, and the taxi fare to Cape Liberty should be lower.
GMoney Posted May 20, 2006 #3 Share Posted May 20, 2006 I agree with Studebaker. Unless you have your heart set on going into the city, I would avoid it and stay in Newark. The airport itself is a short ride from the seaport, and it is definitely not a straight shot by public transportation from NYC back to Cape Liberty.
