judynorth Posted June 9, 2006 #52 Share Posted June 9, 2006 Has anyone seen or done anything eles at Caribou Crossing ...ATV or dog kart ride We were there in 2004 and had lunch. It was OK, which is good since it is just about the only choice for a meal on that route. The BBQ chicken baffled the Aussies that were there. They had never eaten chicken with their fingers (the ONLY way to eat BBQ) but tried it when we said that we southerners eat it that way all the time. I think they thought that we were real barbarians! There is a taxidermy museum which is really impressive. It is just about the only way that you would want to get up close and personal with a polar bear or a moose. The dog kart rides are new (2005). There were dog houses there but no dogs when we were there in '04. You won't really spend a lot of time there since there is so much to see elsewhere if you are driving. Jackie52 Posted June 13, 2006 #54 Share Posted June 13, 2006 Hi, I just received a message from a car rental firm in Skagway and they said, CANADIANS CAN NOT RENT A CAR IN THE US AND DRIVE ACROSS THE BORDER INTO CANADA You would need an American or other driver from another country. Too bad, we were looking forward to the car trip.

Driving yourself is the way to go to see the Yukon.
