anybody stayed at the courtyard by marriott north/cypress creek in fll?? how was your stay ? anything near by? was the cab ride too far?

The Cypress Creek Rd. and Commercial Blvd. area of Ft. Lauderdale is geared for the business traveler. It is not the Port area.

 

You will find nice hotels, places to eat mostly by car and a pretty expensive cab ride to the Port and from the airport. Call the hotel to find out if any restaurants are in walking distance.

 

Hotels near the port and airport are the ones you might want. Try the major chains websites or ideas from this website.

We stayed there a couple years ago. The hotel was fine, typical Marriott Courtyard. We rented a car so transportation was no problem. I think there was a Mexican place to eat, almost connect to the hotel.

Tons of restaurants in this area. Especially on Powerline, and N. Andrews just west of 95. You really need a car though.
