Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

A couple of weeks ago we booked an inside guarantee on AOS for August. Just a couple of days after, we went to the RCCL website-- and we were assigned a promenade inside. We were quite happy. We had tried to do the pre- online registration right away, but we could only do part of it-- and then we would get a message to try later. It has been a few days, and now when we go to our reservation-- our promenade cabin number is gone- there is no cabin number-- and this message is there---The requested reservation is currently being modified. Please try again at a later time.

Just wondering if this has ever happened to anyone before?? What was the result?

Thanks for any answers!:)

You are also talking about checking your reservation on the rccl website on the weekend. The website is often worked on during the weekend, so all sorts of stuff becomes unavailable for viewing. It may mean nothing at all, other than that the IT geeks have taken down parts of the website for weekly maintenance chores. :)

Thanks Carol-

Still haven't gotten through today on the website. We were so thrilled to get the promenade cabin-- now we can only wait and see what happens.... We will be happy regardless what cabin we get! We just wanted to get the online check in done-- but we still have time.

Thanks for your info. re: weekend web problems!

If your reservation has been accessed, by you, RCI, or your Tavel agent, you will get that message for up to 30 minutes. According to RCI web managers, it occurs due to the system they use. If you continue to see that message and can't access your reservation, give RCI a call. My last reservation was locked up for about three days and didn't get unlocked until I called just about everyone under the sun. It was the web people that finally got my reservation out of the loop it was stuck in. Due to the fact that your room information has changed, there is a very good possibility that you are being moved again and it was RCI that had accessed it. Good luck on your room.:D

Thanks WECoyote for the reply... We are now able to access our reservation-- but there is now no cabin assignment-- our cabin # is gone. It now just states inside guarantee..... I noticed on several websites-- that now there are alot more cabins that have become available.... so we will just have to wait & see! We were so pumped to get the promenade-- who knows!???:o

Just wanted to update on what has happened. After our cabin assignment disappeared off the RCCL website- we called RCCL on two different times-- they could not give me any answers. They didnt know what happened. They said that we would have to contact our travel agent. We used one the of the major internet travel services- (who we have used before... will remain nameless!:) )emailed them yesterday. To make a long story short-- got a reply from our TA agency today. Basically he said that somehow when we were accessing our cruise online to do the check in-- it caused us to lose our upgrade. (Does not make any sense!) But though we did not get our original promenade cabin-- we did get a promenade-- they said it was the very last one! The email said that RCCL asked them to tell us not to access our cruise online again- because it may cause us to "lose" our cabin # again. (GO FIGURE? ) WE ARE JUST THRILLED TO GET THE FREE UPGRADE to promenade. They were going for $600 more per cabin then what we had paid for the inside guarantee.

Our main concern was that somehow we would get to the pier- & have no cabin! All is taken care of-- and we are pleased with how it turned out.
