stitch78 Posted June 2, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2006 Besides water or hiking? All the excursions relate to this. Is there nothing really there? Should we just go to the beach and snorkel?
Rare blackwing Posted June 2, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 2, 2006 It's a private island, so yeah, not really much there. If you're not into the water-type excursions, I'd just make it a beach day. The beach is beautiful. There's also parasailing which looked fun.

Host Star Posted June 4, 2006 #4 Share Posted June 4, 2006 when we were there a few years ago they had a snorkel excursion that took you around the back side of the island to a gorgeous reef for some wonderful snorkeling.. it was well worth doing.. the have a nice barbeque set up on the beach and lots of chaise lounges and also the cabanas which you can rent for the day.. navywife06 Posted June 5, 2006 #6 Share Posted June 5, 2006 Hi, I'll be in Half Moon Cay in August and was wondering if anyone knew the pricing for the cabanas? Thanks.
S.S.Oceanlover Posted June 6, 2006 #7 Share Posted June 6, 2006 Is Half Moon Cay only available to a certain cruise line (like CocoCay) or is it open tot he public? And if so, how do we get there, how much is it, and what all do they offer? Thanks Half Moon Cay is Holland Americas private island. Since HAL has no ships in the Caribbean this summer carnival is going to be using it. It is not open to the public. Navywife06, I believe the cabanas are $239. kapcruiser Posted March 5, 2007 #9 Share Posted March 5, 2007 Is there a fee for the barbeque or does carnival provide food and drinks?
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH Posted March 5, 2007 #10 Share Posted March 5, 2007 The BBQ lunch is included in your cruise rate.....NO EXTRA CHARGE! Does anyone know whether there is any kind of shopping on the island? Castaway Cay had a gift shop, Coco Cay and Great Stirrup Cay had straw market-type vendors. #1parrothead Posted March 5, 2007 #11 Share Posted March 5, 2007 Because Half Moon Cay is a private island, you will find alot more info if you go to the private islands forums under the ports of call boards. I've attached the link: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=406 Hope this helps!!
