smariner Posted June 11, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2006 My wife & I are taking my parents on an Alaska cruise later this month on "Royal Caribbean". Our ship will be stopping at the following Alaskan ports --- Icy Strait Point, Juneau & Skagway. We are fine with some limited walking; and are somewhat price sensitive. Can anyone please recommend the following? -> What are the must-take excursions from Icy Strait Point, Juneau & Skagway? -> If we choose to not go with RCCL excursions, what are our choice of other excursion-operators? We tried searching on the web, but couldn't find any info. -> We are very keen on showing some glaciers to my parents. Any recommended (& not so expensive) tours? Thanks in advance. Budget Queen Posted June 12, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 12, 2006 You need to look over a ship shore excursion list and narrow down your interests. There are way too many "must take" excursions. With a glacier your priority, the splurge could be a glacier helicopter landing- my top choice. Otherwise take the shuttle to Mendenhall Glacier.
