I guess that answers the question as to whether Galaxy will be heading into dry dock in May 2007. I believe we will have to wait until 2008.

I got tired of waiting for them to open this and booked a 17 day on Westerdam. I really wanted to do the Galaxy TA, but needed to book air via FF miles, and you have to do that about a year in advance. Just couldn't wait.

 

But the Westerdam's itinerary is really even better than Galaxy's, IMO.

 

Maybe next year.

The Westerdam does include a coupe of ports I really like - such as Madeira - but it leaves April 1, a whole month earlier than the Galaxy. I think it would be a cool crossing and still cool in Europe too.

I cannot find any information about this 13 day transatlantic crossing on the Celebrity website? Where should I go to find the detail?

On the far left of the website, click on Destinations. Scroll down to the last item - Transatlantic - and click on it. That will change the screen - over on the right you'll see some boxes where you can make selections. For "ship", choose "Galaxy"; for "month", choose "May 2007"; and for "Destination", choose "Transatlantic". That should bring up the Galaxy's transatlantic itinerary for May 2007. That, in turn, will give you a pricing button you can click to find the prices of different cabin categories.

Thanks Bev, but I have been trying that for the past 3 days and the response to date is as follows:

"There are no cruises in the system for the month you've specified. Please try again".

I am booked on Galaxy for the previous 13 day cruise which is a charter for the World Cup Cricket tour of the West Indies and I am interested in adding the transatlantic crossing. Any other suggestions for obtaining the information?

I am still getting nowhere. When I go into - http://www.celebritycruises.com - and look for a transatlantic cruise for May 2007 on Galaxy I get the same negative response as before.

I will have to check it out with the Australian GSA tomorrow.

There is a problem with their search engine. Try the search again without putting in the destination... Just specify Galaxy, May 2007, all destinations..
