waterbug1 Posted June 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2006 Does anyone know if HAL ship’s medical services personnel will administer prescribed injections at a passenger’s request?
ronvoell Posted June 15, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 15, 2006 My wife needs to have her blood medicine adjusted about every three weeks. We get charged by the ship doctor who needs to order the test and for the test. The cost is around $80. On our last cruise we were told if our home doctor wrote a letter requiring the test the ship doctor would be out of the loop and we would save about 1/2 of the cost. You might want to have your doctor write a letter requiring the injection.
bdcbbq Posted June 15, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 15, 2006 One of the nursing staff might with a prescription from your doctor. The fee should be less than the doctor would charge. If its not an I.V. injection, you should be able to learn how to perform it pretty easily. I've given myself multiple I.M. injections in the past as treatment. waterbug1 Posted June 17, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted June 17, 2006 Thank you all so much for the information. My family and I can normally handle the injections but I always like to know that I have a Plan B if the need arises. I appreciate all the good advice.
