smariner Posted June 16, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2006 We are sailing with my elderly parents later this month on RCCL's Vision. Sometimes they prefer to have steamed white rice for lunch/dinner. Will steamed rice be available in the restaraunts or through room service? OR is carrying an electric rice cooker a good idea? kitty9 Posted June 16, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2006 Don't bring a steamer with you. That's just too much. Just tell your waiter or head waiter, on the first night, that they want rice, and it will be prepared for them. Unless you're in a high end suite, the room service menu is VERY limited, so they won't have rice via room service.
tomko2 Posted June 16, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 16, 2006 I have always found steamed white rice in the Windjammer Cafe without any problem. You could certainly ask your Waiter for it in the Dining Room. Please don't bring the steamer. You could always go and pick some up in the Windjammer and bring it back to the room. I remember seeing 2-3 types of rice served in the Windjammer Cafe, including plain steamed white rice, but I don't know if it was every day. I'm pretty sure your waiter can accommodate your request for white rice. :)
