mbw1024 Posted June 30, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 30, 2004 somehow I am in charge of planning and packing for my boyfriend! He's packing a suit (I think) for formal nights but what about the other nights? Khaki pants and a golf shirt... is that acceptable for some nights?
GolfingDV Posted June 30, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 30, 2004 I can tell you what proper attire is for Carnival ships. Dark suits work great for formal nights although you will see 25 to 30% tux's. That's down from when we first started cruising where tux's were 50 to75% for formal nights. Main dining has also become a little more casual. I think the most common are knit slacks with silk shirts, camp shirts, or nice golf shirts. You will see a lot of khaki's too. Some will still show up in jacket and tie but that's not very common any more. As long as he stays away from shorts or jeans, he'll fit in OK. If dressing up isn't for you, there is casual dining available on the upper deck. Have fun!
Flacrusrs Posted July 4, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 4, 2004 He will be just fine with a suit for formal nights and dockers and a collar shirt for the rest. My DH likes to wear a jacket most nights but you don't even see that much anymore.
