cat 12 and owners suite on sensation

does anyone know if sensation still has owners suite, or do they just have cat 12 penthouse suites, I cant seem to find an owners suite on any of sensations deck plans, were the owners suites where the camp carnival is? i know the ship has been refurbed. thanks to all:D

Yes every ship has an owner's suite. I'm very intruiged as to why you ask.

From what I know the owners suite isn't available to the general public, it is for Carnival Corp only.

On very, and I mean very rare occasions, because of moving around group space or overbooking, people booked into cat 12s have been upgraded to an owners suite. But no, you cn not request it, pay extra for it, and for the love of god don't waste a PVP or TAs time inquiring about it.

Every ship no longer has the "owner's suite". There are a few Fantasy Class ships that still have this accomodation, but most have been turned into Camp Carnival now.

 

The Ecstasy (sailing from Galveston) still has 2 "owner's suites". They are overlooking the Lido deck main pool.

 

They are about 1000 sq ft...with separate bedroom with King sized bed, large bathroom, large walk-in closet, living room with sofa bed, dining area, and bar area. I think the maximum occupancy is 6 passengers...two would have to sleep on rollaways.

 

PS...you CAN request it, and pay for it. I have done so 3 times on the Ecstasy, and I don't work for or have any connection to Carnival.

 

A good TA doesn't mind checking availability for you.

On my way back to my stateroom yesterday, I saw liquor being brought up tp the Penthouse. I guess if you can afford 6 boxes of the Louis XII (?) and then some, you can afford to have a TA ask and get you the Suite.

The only "perk" this accomodation affords the passenger (over a Cat 11 or 12) is priority debarkation.

Pros of Owner's suite:

• Extra large cabin when traveling with several people...for me, with 2 daughters, it still wasn't big enough. At least I had my own bedroom and could escape from the kids when I wanted. (The "kids" are 20 and 25 yrs of age.)
  
• Priority embarkation and debarkation. On embarkation, you are escorted all the way from check-in to the cabin. On debarkation, you wait in the library with the CVC and Platinum members and are escorted in a group off ship behind the self-assisted passengers.

Cons of Owner's suite:

• Located right under the jogging track. Noisy in the early morning.
  
• Located right over the Lido main pool area. Noisy at night.
  
• Not used often, so lots of things needing work...like running sinks, and non-functioning shower. (They fixed them quickly when notified.)
  
• Lots more movement than on Upper Deck where the Cat 12s are.

 

Why would you have no desire? It was fun to try out!

I called Carnival DIRECT - just ask for RESERVATIONS ADMINISTRATION...

 

We thought it would be a novel thing to do.. but opted for the cat 12 instead. With the aforementioned CONS, I could not see paying almost $500 per person PER night!!! I would rather GIVE that away in the casino... and might get a FREE drink for it if I am lucky :rolleyes:

 

Only a few of the FANTASY class ships have them. No other classes do.

Well.. we decided to go ahead and give one a try (on our October Sensation Anniversary cruise).

 

Could you tell me if your pictures are of (suite #1 or #2), as I am curious if mine will be on the port or starboard side. I am booked in #1.

 

Also - I noticed the dining table in the cabin... any chance that the Maitre d' can arrange to have your breakfast or dinner sent up to you? Now THAT would be a PERK...:D

I dont remember a door; just a separate "room"

 

Also they get quite hot- keep your drapes closed and that will help.

 

Just regular room service is avail- no full breakfast.

 

I thought it was really kind of tacky- reminded me of something from the early 80's. But the bathroom is VERY nice !

Totally separate bedroom with King sized bed, elevated on a platform. The bathroom is off to the side of this room and the 14 year old would have to invade your privacy to reach the bathroom.

It *is* pretty tacky...but fun decor. Real Miami Vice, lots of chrome and 70's colors. There were no "extra" amenities, but on the Ecstasy I was allowed Priority Debarkation in addition to the VIP embarkation.

 

As for getting hot...it depends on the time of year. I've sailed in that accomodation on the Ecstasy several times...March and October I had no problems with heat...in May it got hot in the living room with the drapes open. The living room has semi-opaque tint (people CAN see in somewhat), but the bedroom has nearly opaque tint that allows it to stay cooler with the drapes open, and you can see out over the Lido pool, but others can't see in.

That WOULD be a perk, but it ain't happening...sorry!

 

It did come in handy for those midnight snacks from room service!
