aloanldy Posted July 1, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 1, 2006 We're sailing on Monday July 3rd. Just wondering what to expect. Any do's or don'ts or any great or bad experiences? Thanks, Charlie
medic123 Posted July 1, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 1, 2006 You will have a great time on this ship. The staff and crew go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. Don't miss quest, dueling pianos, and voltage.
suezyq50 Posted July 1, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 1, 2006 We really enjoyed Boleros and the wine tasting. If you scrapbook, they have a demo with die cuts.

Tofutti Posted July 1, 2006 #5 Share Posted July 1, 2006 When tendering at Coco Cay stay in line even though it seems it is very long(Unless you're priority). We had gotten in line on deck 3 and thought it was long, so we went to the pool for a while. Around 11:00 we decided the line should be shorter, and it started on deck 4 and was longer on deck 3! Even then we stood in line about 30 minutes, so it wasn't terrible, we just should have stayed where we were. When you go up to the Windjammer for lunch Monday, don't just stay in the front of the restaurant, walk around to the other side, it's just like the front with the same food, except this is the bow of the ship and there are more tables to be found because not many people know it's there! You will love Sovereign, it's small and easy to navigate. Have a great time!!:D

FnyFACEnAL Posted July 2, 2006 #8 Share Posted July 2, 2006 Does anyone know what year the SOS was refurbished adding Johnny Rockettes etc.?
1of2 Posted July 2, 2006 #9 Share Posted July 2, 2006 The SOS was refurbished in 2004.
FOXTROT Posted July 2, 2006 #10 Share Posted July 2, 2006 We were on the SOS in May, had a great time. The service was terrible. If it was our 1st cruise it would have been our last. Our 1st cruise was on the SOS so we thought for our 25th should also be on the SOS.
wolfcathorse Posted July 2, 2006 #11 Share Posted July 2, 2006 Yes SOV has a Johnny Rockets and a Sorrento's. Food in JR was wonderful but the pizza in Sorrentos had sat around for a while. You can get eggs to order in the Windjammer where they make your omeletes.

Did you say anything to anyone about your service?? Believe it or not, they want to know how the service is......Good or Bad !! And they will try to make it right! I have been on the Sov 9 times (10th in 5 Days :D ). I can honestly say that we have never had bad service on her. She is a smaller ship and it seems that the crew go well out of their way to make the short (3 day/4 day) cruise as memorable as they can. But just remember ~~ Any cruise is better than no cruise!! billh65 Posted July 2, 2006 #13 Share Posted July 2, 2006 We're sailing on Monday July 3rd. Just wondering what to expect. Any do's or don'ts or any great or bad experiences? Thanks, Charlie We went on the SOS on May 29 for the 4 night cruise. It was a charter, so cannot compare everything ... but the service was terrific. Cabin Steward got to know us the first afternoon, and noticed our schedule for dinner, etc ... and kept it spotless. The Dining Room staff was great - since it was a charter, there was open seating for dinner, but they always found a table for our party of 10 with very little. Got a great family portrait (with the white background) -- we tried several different backgrounds, and picked the best of the bunch. Take advantage of the photographers, getting the photo taken is free, you only pay if you want it. We did try the mentioned scrapbooking (not really into it) as well as greeting card making ... and enjoyed it on an at sea afternoon. Like for you, it was quick trip to the east coast of the state, left at 8:30, there by 10:30, eating lunch in Windjammer by 12:30 or 1:00 -- and as someone else mentioned, go all the way to the front of the dining area, less crowded, a bit cooler, and you can still visit all the buffet lines.
