Can I hold (with deposit) 2 cruises for the same week?

I have a 13 day cruise booked over Thankgiving. The final payment is not due until September. It is now looking iffy for me to get the two weeks off from work. Can I book a "backup" 6 day cruise during the same period and cancel one as soon as I know what my work situation will be (before final payment of course)?

 

I know the airlines frown on that and will cancel a 2nd reservation that is made for the same person during the same time period.

Not a problem, we have done it before. They don't care, RCCL will find someone for the cabin you cancel anyway.
