Anyone just back from the Ryndam?

We board on Sunday and wondered about the status of the norovirus outbreak. Last I heard, the ship was in code red.

We just disembarked on July 2nd and they were definitely serious about sanitation! There were hand sanitizer dispensers all over the ship and for dinner they were standing at the door making sure everyone took a squirt of it. Also, they had signs in the giftshops saying that you should not touch the merchandise unless you asked the clerks for gloves!

 

They mentioned that the staff was sanitizing all public surfaces every 2 hours.

 

All this effort must have paid off, I did not hear of anyone getting sick on the ship other than a little seasickness between Seward and College Fjord on the open sea.

Thank you so much for your reply! We leave today and are very excited. We were on the Explorer of the Seas in March and they had an outbreak of the Norovirus 3 weeks before we sailed. I thought it was funny that the Ryndam also had an outbreak around 3 weeks before we sailed! It sounds like they have everything under control.
