Cindykw Posted July 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2006 I booked us a cruise for July 22, 2006 thru *****.com, they offered a "Oceanview" for 1299.00 It sounded like a good deal. I called to see why 2 weeks before the cruise we have not received anything. Princess will not discuss anything with me because I used a travel agent. *****.com said we were assigned to cabin D619 Obstructed Oceanview. To me obstructed means no view. Also We are right outside the casino. I think this will be noisey. What can I do? any suggestions? Has anyone stayed in this cabin D619? I assume I will have a view of a lifeboat. Rare Coral Posted July 9, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2006 I have stayed in that area - I believe I had Dolphin 620. Your view will probably be the life boat. I didn't stay in that exact cabin but I doubt you will miss the life boat by looking at the deck plan. The location is actually pretty good. You are just one deck off of the Promanade (easy to get outside), and also just down the stairs from the internet cafe. We didn't hear loud sounds from the casino. The casino is not very busy in Alaska (not a big gambling group) but the casino does get smokey and you can smell it when you walk through the casino to get to your cabin. Though outside of your cabin is not smokey at all. I think it is a good location.
joanne1 Posted July 9, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 9, 2006 Hi Cindy, Sorry, I can't tell you a thing about the cabin but I wanted to let you know that we will also be on the cruise that week. There is a small group that have met on the 'roll-call' thread, so feel free to come on over and visit . . . http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=291447
RainbowSuperstar Posted July 10, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 10, 2006 Hi there, I was in an Obstructed View room when I went to Tahiti and had an amazing view! The window looked between the life boats. And the Boat outside our window was the one they used everyday. Quiet... I never knew when they put it in the water. The Casino issue? If you do not like your room when you get to the boat, you can request to change rooms if there are any available. There were a few people who did this on our boat. Have a great trip.
