shay1 Posted July 18, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2006 Hello, Has anyone used Park N Fly at Port Everglades, Ft. Lauderdale? We will be driving to the port for 9/30/06 cruise and I found this parking spot on the internet. Would like to know others experience of using this versus parking at the port. Cruise terminal garages $12 - per day. Park N Fly $9 - If AAA $8 - per day. Thanks, Shay1
ridgeview lab lover Posted July 18, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 18, 2006 We used Park N Fly for the first time last year. It was great! You drove in, they directed you to park in a certain row, they came to your car to pick up you and your luggage, and they are very near the port so it only took a few minutes to get to the ship. When getting off the ship we called them for pick up (they may also circle), they took us back directly to the car in the lot and I believe we paid on the way out. We would certainly use them again out of Port Everglades. It was much easier than parking in the parking garage which we had done in the past. shay1 Posted July 19, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted July 19, 2006 Thank you for your response. I have a couple of more questions for you. It sounds like the parking is in the open, is this correct? Is the area fenced in? How secure is it? My DH is concerned with the car being out in the open as opposed to in the parking garage (in case of tropical storm). Thank you. cruisewench Posted July 19, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 19, 2006 The Park N Fly works great. When we used it the transport van picked us up at our parking space and the driver took our luggage out of the trunk and placed it in the van. By travelling with Park N Fly, it seems we were in a shorter line than usual for the security clearance at Port Everglades. We were taken directly to the cruise ship. It reduced our baggage handling and the chore of having to find a parking space at the cruise port parking garage. When we disembarked, we called Park N Fly and within minutes they were there. It's a great program.
cruisewench Posted July 19, 2006 #5 Share Posted July 19, 2006 The parking area is open and is secure. People are there 24 hours a day.
shay1 Posted July 25, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted July 25, 2006 Thank you all for your responses. I have a couple of more questions. Do they drop you off where you can leave your luggage with the baggage handlers? Did you have to tip the driver and the baggage handler? Thanks
