We want to go on a last minute cruise

We want to go on a last minute cruise departing from the east coast that must be back home by 7/25. We do not want to go on an old ship full of kids and we want a balcony. Destination is irrelevant. Any ideas? We can leave as soon as we can drive there from ATL. This may be sacreligious, but we don't care what the cruise line is.

You might look at Radisson out of Norfolk VA or New York. Can't guarantee about the kids or the ship's age but their cruises generally have less kids on them.

Pamwinn -- We did just that in January. We went to our AAA TA, told her what we were looking for, how much to spend, etc., etc., etc. She found us a Verandah Suite on HAL's Volendam, 10 nights, for an incredible fare. We booked on a Friday and left the following Thursday. It can be done, but it is done best by a TA....they know the places to look. Good Luck!

pamwinn - you want to go on a last-minute cruise in the middle of the peak cruising season - on a new ship - without kids (right!) - waant a balcony cabin - and don't care about the itinerary, as long as you can drive to the embarkation port from Atlanta? Good lucki and please let me know what you get, as I'm only 1 1/2 hours from Atlanta!

We've registered with Holland America to get their last minute cruise specials and have seen some great deals. You can register on their web site or probably could call them to find out what's available. Good luck.

Pamwinn: Go to Orbitz.com, Cruises, Royal Carribean, 7 days. Select Mariner of Seas a new ship out of Port Caniveral, Western Caribbean, August 15-22, they list a balcony guarantee for $1199 pp. Try it you can drive and leave car in lot near ship. Have credit card handy if booking goes through they will send confirmation e-mail and tickets will follow. You may be paying all when you book. Good luck and tell how it goes.
