Internet Cafes

Recommended Posts

Can anyone provide information on Internet Cafes in Europe.

We took a 10 day Mexican Cruise in March and paid about $200 for use of the internet on the ship.......

Then we found that every port had several internet cafes and the charges were about $1.50 per HOUR...........

Needless to say the ship was quite expensive compared.

We are taking a 12 day Med cruise next year so wanted to see what was recommended.

Thanks

Ship internet is almost always a complete ripoff. But people carry on paying the rates, so the ships will carry on charging them and making a huge profit.

The best people to ask for recommendations for good Internet cafes are the crew, particularly if a ship has been around your ports earlier in the season. Many crew now depend on Internet cafes to keep in touch with home and friends (incl friends on other ships), and so they tend to acquire some good collective wisdom about where the good fast and cheap places are.

O.K.

If you are on Las Ramblas, there are a few. There is a large one on the left hand side of the street, if you are headed TWOARD the water in what looks like a big video arcade.

If you are near the Picasso Museum there is one on a side street called el bacco ferro or something similar.

The Easy Internet chain (http://WWW.easyinternetcafe.com) have two in Barcelona including one on 31, Las Ramblas with over 300 pc's.I have used their facilities throughout Europe and found the pretty reliable although please keep your valuable close to hand as these places seem act as a magnet for thieves. In some countries you maybe asked for ID (passport etc..) before logging on.
