Trvlnround Posted July 27, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 27, 2006 I will be cruising in just 2 days, but have read a lot about Capt. Larry's. Is it too late for me to call them and book? Also, what is the cost going with him vs using a excursion from the cruise lines? Also, I guess it would help if I had Capt.Larry's phone number too. Thanks. Trvlnround Posted July 27, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted July 27, 2006 Is his pricing better too? And THANKS for the website address. I'll check it out
a1moty Posted July 27, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 27, 2006 I am not familiar with RCCL excursions, but HAL has a whale watching and wild life quest for $115. Captain Larry's price for the day we are going is $114.45. I have been with Captain Larry before and feel very comfortable going with him again. I noticed on his web site that he has a new boat, I assume that it is equipped with the hydrophone to listen to the whales talking/singing. Of course, it is still your decision--but I still vote for Captain Larry.
eVader Posted August 5, 2006 #5 Share Posted August 5, 2006 We would second the vote for Captain Larrys. If we ever go to Alaska again, we will go out with them again too.
Budget Queen Posted August 5, 2006 #6 Share Posted August 5, 2006 With most Alaska independents, it isn't about significant cost savings- it's the superior tours. :) Orca Enterprises is probably my top vender recommendation in Alaska, since I have been going with him for a LONG time. :)
