sueceecat Posted July 28, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2006 Do you (or others) ever wear the elbow length gloves (usually in black) with your formal attire? Thanks!

I've only worn gloves with ball gowns. Did you have a particular dress in mind? I'd love to see it! ~e
sueceecat Posted July 28, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted July 28, 2006 I don't have a photo- its' a Bari-Jay slim matte black satin long classic halter ( bought at Ross for $9.97) with an added slim (net ruffle at bottom) slip underneath to close the high slit and make the dress longer.. I can't handle low neck ( but not too low) and high slit on same dress. No other ornamentation on dress With a black vintage beaded clutch, slender plain strappy Charles David black heads, and a vintage plain sheer black wrap. Hair up. It reminds me of the classic black Barbie gown- but black gloves might verge on cartoonish!
sueceecat Posted July 28, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted July 28, 2006 Ps: the slip is meant to show!
mrsred Posted July 28, 2006 #5 Share Posted July 28, 2006 Ok...I'm a visual person, so my mental image sees something like what Audrey Hepburn wore in the beginning of Breakfast at Tiffany's (one of my all time fave movies!). Anyway...if that's what you're going for it is very classic and retro. What jewelry and shoes are you planning to wear with it? You may need a tiara and the long cigarette holder. Just kidding! ;) ~e
Sisi Posted July 28, 2006 #6 Share Posted July 28, 2006 I have worn gloves only when the dress code is white tie, and never with formal attire.
