Star late in Auckland

On the cam it looks like Pacific Star is just arriving in Auckland at 11:30. Wonder if they had bad weather. Hope it's not late on the 11th

Update.

Friends of my parents are leaving today on the Star and were phoned by P & O yesterday and told Star was leaving 2 hours late due to motor (their words, i would say engine) trouble.

Doesn't sound good .Hope they have got it fixed.

Just gone 7pm and she is still tied up.

Gives us a chance to see the bright lights of downtown Auckland.;)

Was due to leave at 4pm,but if she did not arrive till 11.30,(4 1/2 hours late),probably wont leave till around 8.30/9pm.

Still there and it's now past midnight. I've noticed that the Star seems to leave late quite regularly alghough not this late.

Looks like Pacific Star is sailing out Auckland Harbour now.

A work mate of my partner's mother is on this cruise - so when they get back we'll probably get to hear all about the delay etc, via her.

News update

Our travel agent was on this cruise and i sent her an email asking what happened

she wrote

 

"In Suva, the generators malfunctioned, so we were delayed quick severly, then our trip to the yasawa’s was cancelled as the storm wiped out the dock, & we couldn’t get to port, we ended up at Bounty Island instead, they were the only ones that could handle us I think…then the rough sea’s delayed us again.

It was frustrating, we ended up getting of at 12.45pm

I am still rocking, and swaying…..

SERIOUS!!!"

Can anyone else add to this as i leave on the Star on the 11th August

went and got some seasickness pills just in case

Shame they couldn't get ashore at Yasawa, it's a lovely spot - but having seen and used the pontoon that the tenders use there, I can understand why they cancelled the call there if the weather was rough - I certainly wouldn't like to have used it if the water was rough.
