Sunday in Helsinki, Finland - problem??

Hi.

Museums, sites and markets are available the same as on weekdays, with the exception of churches which have masses starting starting around 10am. Most museums are closed on Mondays.

Public transportation has longer intervals on sundays, but for tourists moving in the city centre this only means a few more minutes of waiting for the trams at the most.

The only real problem is stores, depending on when you are travelling.

From May 2nd to August 31st (and November 1st to December 23th) the stores are allowed to be open between noon and 9pm. Most of the stores in the city centre are open until 6pm.

BUT in other times such as September only small grocery stores and the stores located below the city streets are allowed to be open on Sundays. (There are a couple of small stores in the tunnels connecting the Central Railway Station to the metro station below...)
