power snorkling

I am going to Aruba and thinking about a power snorkling excursion. Never done it and was wondering what it's like, here are some silly sounding questions .

I looked on line and the only picture is of people underwater with the "sleds" can you just let them pull you around on the surface while looking down or does it just work underwater?

Do they sink if you let go of them?

Thanks

We used them in St. Marten and it was really fun. We used them on top of the water. You just kind of lay on them. You don't go really fast but much faster than using just your legs. The neat thing is that you don't get as tired and you can go much farther out. They just float if you let them go so I don't know how you could get them underwater.
