Clarkk W Griswald Posted August 1, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 1, 2006 We are sailing on Caribbean Princess 2/11/07. We picked this ship and itinerary specifically for the 3 sea days. We are now trying to convince friends to join us, however they are a little apprehensive because of the 3 sea days. I'm happy sitting in a deck chair, with a cold drink, snoozing and watching the world go by on the sea days, but my friends are afraid 3 days of that will be boring for them. I need some ideas of what all goes on during the seas days. Help me convince them to come along!! Thanks! Mrs. Griswald
thechandlers99 Posted August 2, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 2, 2006 We just got back from the CB Eastern and we had 3 days at sea. Our days were filled with laying by the pool but there was a lot going on. Eating, drinking, bingo, art auctions, wine tastings, galley tours, ice carving demos, belly flop contests, newleywed game, family feud, casino, cards, MUTS, naps, line dancing & ballroom lessons, etc. There really are a lot of activities going on during the day. Even with one of our sea days completely rained out, we found things to do. I hope the decide to join you....it really is a good time!
Fuzzyape Posted August 2, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 2, 2006 Mrs. Griswald, Perhaps we'll see you on board. DW and I are also booked for that date. I'm more curious if they do anything for Valentines day. I agree with the previous post. Auctions, Bingo, classes, movies, shows, eating, napping lots to do. The way we got our friends interested was to show them the princess patters from our previous cruise. I don't know if that's an option for you or not. The sea days have a lot more to do than the port days. If they like to gamble there's also the casino. Shops on board for those that like to gander at things. But to me the biggest plus of a sea day....NO OBLIGATIONS (unless you have kids, then maybe). You don't have to be anywhere at any particular time, and how many times can you say that during your day, or life. Now if you are interested in doing some of the various things on the boat, then maybe you will have "obligations". But, if they aren't met no big deal. Also, where else can you have someone turn down your bed at night, bring fruit to your room (see the tips sticky) and generally be pampered. Let's not mention food brought to you each night, and maybe breakfast and lunch if you go to the dining room, the plates taken away. I don't know about you, but if someone is going to treat me like that for 7 days (okay my DW treats my like that often, but I do try to help out ;) ) Sign me up. I've been on 2 other Princess cruises and love them, that's why we're going on this one, and bringing some friends. Good luck Mrs Griswald. Just remember appeal to everyone's deepest desire....to be lazy for 7 days ;)

SingerEsq Posted August 2, 2006 #5 Share Posted August 2, 2006 Hopefully adding to the list: *If they're into fitness, there's the gym. Or just walking the promenade all the way around the ship several times. *There's the rasul ;) -- trying that for the first time myself this cruise. *There's other spa services. *There's organizing your pictures (I bring my laptop) from the previous day's excursions. *There's BINGO --- sounds hokey, but it's actually kind of fun. We got hooked on Island and we won! *There's the Casino and we lost! *Oh yeah, and there's just doing nothing. We had 10 sea days on the Island ..... oh how I wished for more. :D

Fuzzyape Posted August 2, 2006 #9 Share Posted August 2, 2006 Mrs Griswald, Most of the people on the Roll Call for the cruise are just doing the Caribbean boat. There are some, like Ian doing 2...crazy Canadians ;) , You should pop your question on that roll call board. I think Ian should give you a good answer though since he's been on this boat before :) Hope you can get your friends convinced.
fathercop Posted August 2, 2006 #10 Share Posted August 2, 2006 We love the E. Caribbean itenerary for that extra sea day. We do many of the things already listed above, but I just enjoy sitting near the pool watching MUTS, soaking up the sun and have a drink or two. Those days, for me and my wife at least, are the most relaxing days on our cruise. I feel so refreshed that I am ready to hit the shows and do all of the other events found in the Patter - after I take a relaxing nap from my relaxing sitting in the sun.:p Rich a.k.a.
