johnbob7 Posted July 6, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 6, 2004 We cruised Western Carib at end of March this year, and weather was great. 90 degrees F +/- a couple every day. A brief shower in Cozumel, otherwise sunny whole time. Can't guarantee next year, but it worked this year!!
pcur Posted July 6, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 6, 2004 March is starting to get kinda icky and humid. Why not check the weather.com averages for your ports and see what they say? I would prefer early March, because you're still a smidge in the drier season. Also, when's Easter next year? Are you hitting Spring Break at the end of March? pmvogelalex Posted July 6, 2004 #4 Share Posted July 6, 2004 late mar is hot sunny and a little humid, but thats what you want after a long cold northern winter. The beginning of mar is Hot, sunny and a little humid too. the most important thing to know is that tropical disturbances are UNKNOWN in march!!! Smmoth sailing...... PSkinner Posted July 6, 2004 #5 Share Posted July 6, 2004 Easter is March 27, but our school's spring break is March 7-11. We are also looking at early March to sail instead of waiting until the end of May, or through the summer.
fm519 Posted July 6, 2004 #6 Share Posted July 6, 2004 We sailed this past March 6 to the Western Caribbean and the weather was perfect. Enjoy!
yarlenna Posted July 6, 2004 #7 Share Posted July 6, 2004 The Caribbean is tropical. In March, the real rainy season hasn't started yet. Drink plenty of water and wear sun-screen and you should be good to go. The Atlantic may still be a bit cold for swimming, but the Caribbean should be lovely.
