How about from SF pier to airport?

I have read several posts about transportation from the airport to the pier and thanks to your info we plan to use the shuttle. However, what options are there when we disembark and need to get back to the airport? Are taxis the only option then?

Try www.supershuttle.com. Their prices might be better than a taxi. I am not sure what the taxi prices are though. Maybe do a search.

I believe the taxi are pretty high especially if you are caught in traffic. If it was me I would take the shuttle.

I guess my question is: Can you get a shuttle when you get OFF the ship? Are they there waiting or do you have to make a reservation ahead of time? I have never noticed shuttles waiting at other ports, just taxis and the cruise ship shuttle buses.

They will be there, but you are better off with a reservation. This helps them plan the number of shuttles needed, and assures you a shuttle. You may have to wait for other ticketed passengers to leave first if you don't have a pre-booked ticket.
