Thinking of booking Spirit?? New to NCL

Hi Kathy, I just got off the Spirit on Sunday. She is a beautiful ship with a marvelous crew. They really went out of their way to be helpful. The food in the specialty restaurants tend to be a bit better than in the main dining rooms but we always managed to find something good to eat. The cabins are a bit smaller than on some other ships but really not enough to make a difference. The decor of the ship is unique. She was built for the Asian market and have lovely Asian details throughout the ship. She handles well in rough seas and I never saw anyone sick. My main problem was that she gently rocked and kept putting me to sleep whenever I tried to sit down to read. I only got to see a couple of shows in the main showroom. One was excellent, one was so so. I have heard very good things about the comedy duo that was there. The casino was huge. There is a great pub on board where they have a singer at night and you can play darts when he is not there and have a quiet drink. This was my 6th cruise with NCL, all of them from New York City. Boarding is certainly not a problem. If you have any other questions, I will be happy to answer them.

I was on the Spirit in June to Bermuda and I was extremely happy with everything. Honestly I cannot think of one thing, other than the weather, it rained a little, that I would change. We liked the food in all of the restaurants, the entertainment was good, Alfred and Seymour were fantastic, hysterical. We enjoyed Henry's Pub, the progressive trivia was held there and that was a lot of fun. The Murder Mystery Dinner was fun, make sure you sign up for it when announced in Freestyles. We also did the Martini and Marguerita clinics that were fun. Another real plus was meeting our roll call pals. We had a great meet and greet and continue to stay in touch with them...This is really taking me back...Great time. Have fun planning!!

I just got back on sunday from the spirit. I am 32 and went with hubby and family. Been on 3 other cruises with carnival and I love them...I have nothing bad to say about my bed, bathroom, room stewards or the staff. HOWEVER, the ship was too small, with TOO many 13yrs+ drinking and carrying on, I found the food only good in the specialty restaurants and I would not do this ship ever again! I wanted to try a different cruiseline and it worked for our family situation because we were travelling with a 14 month old, but this ship was not for me.

ALSO, if you book a room, get at least a porthole, because our room was inside and SO SMALL.....any questions feel free to ask. Sorry if I have upset anyone! I did have a good time on vacation, I always do, just would not do the Spirit again unless of course it was free, LOL!

We were on the Spirit in Alaska last summer. We thought the food was very good to excellent.... of course the buffets were buffets-- but the main dining room was very good. Cagney's & LeBistro were excellent. We never had a wait for a table-- but we did tend to go eat early-- around 6:30ish. Service was excellent-- except for one night in Windows-- waited for a long time for our food-- finally went and spoke with Maitre d-- and got it quickly. The cabins tend to be small-- but in Alaska we didn't stay in ours very often, except to sleep. We did not find it too big or too small of a ship. It was very clean-- and we would go on it again! If you love cappucino-- on NCL it is free.... (By the way we have been on RCCL and Princess as well-- each line has good things about them!)
