Pre-Cruise Tampa hotels?

Hello, everyone!

 

I am in the process of pre-planning our '07 cruise on CCL, and for now at least, we're considering sailing out of Tampa, FL. And since I prefer to book my own air & hotel.....

My question is: Based on a 1 night stay, what is a good choice of hotel? It doesn't have to be a 5-star, but I'd like something more mid line.

Check out the Westin Harbour Island- it is located across the water from the cruise terminal- about a mile away.

We stayed at the Residence Inn in Tampa before our cruise on the Miracle. Clean rooms and a nice pool. Walking distance to dinning and bars. Free breakfast and shuttle to the ship. Paid $60 on PriceLine. http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/TPAWS

How much from airport to pier on taxi, shuttle, etc??

Anyone stay in this Sheraton? I have enough points for a free night, but Tripadvisor comments are rather negative. Free or not, I want a clean, comfortable place to sleep.

From ship to airport the cab was Around $24.00

 

Airport to hotel was about the same price.
