Champagne Beach?

I'm sailing away ...

Recommended Posts

Champagne reef is a a very short distance offshore. BUT, the shoreline is made up of medium sized surf polished stones that are very treacherous when wet (they're always wet). Posters have reported stories of nasty injuries trying to negotiate shore entry and exit at this snorkle site. The pontoon tending locals I went out with commented also on the great difficulty of shore entry. I recommend the snorkle (boat) highly though - it's mesmerizing! Just watch out also for the abundant fire coral (the yellow lichen-like stuff; its a ZINGER believe me!)

Would these locals be people you met up with on the cruise pier? If so, do you have a name of anyone?

Thanks for posting - I wouldn't want to take a spill and ruin my vacation!
